Wow. So, all of that detritus is gone, eh? Thousands of posts; innumerable comments; my anonymous friends… all gone? To what despicable rube do I owe the ire? Of all the irresponsible things to do as a website proprietor. I didn’t even get an email–no advanced warning of any kind. Unbelievable.
Are any of you still out there? Ali? Int? PTP?

the old JS had a major crash around Christmas. It is now running here under new owners. Some people were able to get their files sent to them, but not everyone. You can get more info by going here: http://www.dorrie.de/F1
you may also find some of your old friends there, too. Most everyone has now started new journals either here, Wordpress, or Blogger.
The crash was unexpected and thus no warning.

In my email I gave you the short version. The long version is the owners of JS had posted on the site that a “disgruntled” employee had sabotaged the system. A RAID system that had 2 servers and one backed up the other. The one was sabotaged basically so it erased content, the backup just stored what was on the first server- which was NOTHING! To their slight credit, the owners of the old JS at least kept us informed with notices on the hp.
